PSCU's Forum Raises $50,000 for National Credit Union Foundation
April 11, 2019
St. Petersburg, Fla. — (April 11, 2019) — The nation’s premier payments credit union service organization – PSCU – hosted its annual conference last week in Austin, Texas. A record-breaking crowd of nearly 1,000 attendees from PSCU Owner credit unions, employees, partners and vendors, along with prospective credit unions and members of the media, were treated to two days of keynote speakers, networking, breakout sessions led by industry experts, entertainment and fundraising in the Lone Star State.
PSCU President and CEO Chuck Fagan kicked off this year’s event with an update on the CUSO’s leading initiatives, from Lumin Digital to fraud-fighting tools and Advisors Plus. Fagan noted that PSCU is focused on enhancing the digital experience, increasing growth and elevating efficiencies and security to push “beyond limits” – the theme for this year’s event – in order to deliver the unparalleled experience PSCU Owners and their members have come to know and expect. Frank Bisignano, Chairman and CEO of First Data, joined Fagan on stage to discuss the upcoming First Data-Fiserv merger, noting that the new company has made a commitment to investing $500 million in innovations to benefit partners like PSCU.
During the opening keynote address, former lead solo pilot of the Blue Angels John Foley took attendees behind the scenes of elite performance and discussed how to achieve success and sustain excellence under changing circumstances. Two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback and five-time NFL MVP Peyton Manning delivered the closing keynote and shared his “go-to plays for success,” including to be fast, flexible and fluid, embrace disruption and master the art of teamwork, among others.
A total of $50,000 was raised during Wednesday night’s charity dinner and silent auction benefiting the National Credit Union Foundation. An organization that is truly the keeper of the credit union movement’s heart, the Foundation’s mission is to improve people’s financial lives through credit unions by igniting understanding and focus on member financial health, inspiring and creating opportunities for credit unions to leverage their cooperative values and responding quickly when disaster strikes. In addition to raising funds for the charitable arm of America's credit union movement, attendees were treated to laughs by Whose Line is it Anyway? stars Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood.
Other Member Forum general and leadership session speakers included Laila Ali, a four-time undefeated world boxing champion and daughter of the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali; Marlee Matlin, Academy Award-winning actress who has risen to fame as one of the few deaf actresses in the industry; Mike Walsh, a pioneer in the digital space and a leading authority on consumer innovation and the digital future and Bob Trunzo, President and CEO of CUNA Mutual Group. Breakout sessions on both days were led by industry experts covering topics ranging from member engagement to fraud and cyber security, Artificial Intelligence (AI), data and analytics, marketing, loyalty and more.
Member Forum 2020 will take place in San Francisco on April 21-23, 2020.
“Each year, Member Forum gives PSCU a chance to gather industry leaders and credit union executives to provide insight in order to help credit unions grow and succeed,” said Dean Young, Executive Vice President, Chief Experience Officer of PSCU. “We enjoyed celebrating all the possibilities PSCU delivers to our Owner credit unions across the country each and every day and hope to see everyone again in San Francisco next year!”
