April 8, 2019
Burlington, VT - NorthCountry Federal Credit Union has made an eighth annual gift of $100,000 to the Greater Burlington YMCA. This financial support ensures that children and families, regardless of financial means, have access to high-quality early child care, engaging afterschool programs, enriching summer camp experiences, and life-saving water safety classes.
“We couldn’t ask for a better partner than NorthCountry,” said Kyle Dodson, YMCA CEO. “They’re exactly the kind of friend kids need—someone to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you and support you when it comes to the most important things in life. We’re grateful that NorthCountry’s board, leadership, employees, and members share our passion for giving kids a strong start in life.”
“Almost everyone has heard a great Y kid’s story,” said Bob Morgan, CEO. “We often hear about children learning to swim, going to camp, or attending afterschool programs. We are pleased to continue our Youth Development partnership with the Y, giving our neighbors the opportunity to participate in these beneficial programs while learning, having fun, and building futures.”
Annually, close to 3,000 children access Y early childhood programs, afterschool, swim team, and summer camps. Close to an additional 1,000 participate in Y water safety and swim lesson classes.
