Staunton, IL - GCS Credit Union employees joined together to raise $1,175.00 in the month of March to benefit St. Paul United Church of Christ’s Pack-A-Sack Program. In an ongoing effort to support the local community, GCS employees participate in Jeans Days each month. In exchange for a donation of $15 or more, employees are allowed to wear jeans on Fridays and Saturdays during that month.

St. Paul UCC provides food snack packs to Staunton elementary and junior high students in need of food over the weekend, when they are not in school. The food packs are distributed by school staff members, ensuring that they go home with students who need it most. Each sack includes cereal, snack bars, fruit, and two canned pasta meals.

St. Paul UCC has been providing 70 weekly food sacks since August 2017. The cost per sack is $5.04. This program exists solely on volunteers and community donations. To contribute to this program, please contact St. Paul United Church of Christ at 255 S Laurel Street in Staunton. To find out more about GCS, visit myGCScu.com.
