From supporting fundraising initiatives to event sponsorships, a big part of our mission is to give back to the communities that have welcomed us.
Anchorage, Alaska – In celebration of their 70th anniversary, Alaska USA Federal Credit Union has donated $70,000 to the United Way.
The credit union partnered with United Way to solicit donations from employees through several fundraising events. Events included Coffee for a Cause, where Alaska USA executives served coffee and donuts to employees; Giving for Goodies, which is an employee bake sale; Pie in the Face Fun, a donation contest between the senior executive team and Donate for Days Off, where employees had the opportunity to receive additional days off in exchange for their United Way donations.
“Alaska USA employees made this fundraising campaign an incredible success,” said Geoff Lundfelt, president. “Not only did we raise funds in support of a fantastic organization, we had a lot of fun along the way, even if it ended with me taking a pie to the face. It shows what we can accomplish as a team, and it makes me proud to be both an employee and a member of Alaska USA.”
