Credit Union Helps Victims of Oklahoma Tornado

community resourceCommunity Resource Federal Credit Union is a collection site for Hope in Oklahoma Latham, NY - Community Resource Federal Credit Union has set up an account to help the victims of the devastating EF5 tornado in Oklahoma that killed at least 24 people and damaged homes, businesses and schools. One of those businesses is Tinker Federal Credit Union, which used its vault to safeguard 21 people and the vault is all that is left of the building. "We set up the fund because when disaster like this strikes, credit unions need to help each other," said Wendy Meola, Director of Marketing.� Community Resources employees will man a live Phone Bank at CBS6 on Thursday, May 30 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. to collect funds which will be distributed to the Red Cross for the relief efforts in Oklahoma.� Community Resource will accept credit card payments during the Phone Bank, but people can also send donations to Community Resource Federal Credit Union, 20 Wade Road, Latham, NY 12110 and make their checks payable to "Hope in Oklahoma Relief Fund".
