Brainerd, Minn. - Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union (MMFCU) grant committee recently donated $1000 to the Lakes Area Music Festival (LAMF). The money will continue to support the vision that Lakes Area Music Festival has for the area.

LAMF looks to connect the nation’s best performers and audiences through excellent classical music and inspiring education. Originally founded by Scott Lykins, Brainerd native, LAMF was created as an outlet for him and his colleagues to share their musical talents and put on free concerts. As each concert had larger audiences, he noticed the need and desire for more musical enrichment in the area.

The festival has continued to grow through the years and provides performances that range from chamber music to symphonic orchestra to opera, performed by musicians from ensembles and conservatories such as the Minnesota Orchestra, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, New World Symphony, Metropolitan Opera, Minnesota Opera, Juilliard School, Eastman School of Music, Curtis Institute and more.

Mid Minnesota Federal Credit Union is a member-owned financial cooperative serving central Minnesota. The credit union has 10 full-service branch locations offering all your financial needs under one roof.  They also participate in CO-OP Shared Branching offering an additional 5,400 locations nationwide if you are traveling, away at school, on business and more!
