Naveo CU Collects Over 50 Warm Blankets and Clothing for Homeless Coalition

Somerville, MA - Naveo Credit Union collected over 50 new and/or gently used warm blankets, bedding and winter items such as hats and gloves during their Blanket Drive last month. Each year, Naveo participates in the statewide drive spearheaded by the Cooperative Credit Union Association. The Association collaborates with the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless to distribute the blankets and other warm bedding across the state. Naveo’s collection was donated to a Bed for Every Child, an initiative geared toward providing a proper place for children to sleep and dream at night.
Naveo joined 23 other credit unions across the state to collect nearly 1,500 blankets and warm winter items. The items will be distributed across the state to 20 different agencies by the Coalition. Since its inception in 2011, credit unions in Massachusetts have donated over 7,200 blankets.
“The generosity of our member continues to impress me year after year, and once again our members donated blankets for those in need. It is always nice to see our members respond to a need in such a generous way and for tht we are very thankful,” commented Rui F. Domingos, Chief Executive Officer at Naveo Credit Union.
