Hanscom AFB, MA (January 30, 2019) – Hanscom Federal Credit Union has pledged its ongoing support for the Airman Leadership School (ALS) at Hanscom AFB with a $2,520 donation.
“We’ve been supporting the ALS for a long time now,” said Paul Marotta, Hanscom FCU’s Chairman of the Board during the check presentation, “and I’m continually impressed with the caliber of military personnel who are selected for this program. It’s an honor for our credit union to support these future leaders in their military service.”
Airmen are required to complete the 24 duty days of leadership training in order to be promoted out of the most junior enlisted grades to attain the first true supervisory rank of Staff Sergeant. Courses include how to supervise lower-ranking Airmen, managerial communications, morale, and the principles of leadership.
Each graduating class concludes with a ceremony on base where several awards are presented to outstanding students. Hanscom FCU’s donation goes toward the graduates’ meals at the ceremonies.
