MAX Credit Union Honors Community Organizations That Make a Difference

MONTGOMERY, AL (January 29, 2019) – On January 17, MAX held its 16th Annual MAX Community Reception.  The MAX Community Reception is an annual event that brings together business, political, and community leaders to celebrate community successes and recognize organizations and individuals who have made a significant difference in the quality of life in Central and East Alabama.

MAX honored Baptist Health for their efforts in contributing to a better River Region Community. Baptist Health is committed to providing exceptional healthcare to Montgomery residents and neighbors in the surrounding areas. The organization strives to teach the community and local businesses on how to stay healthy and reduce the risk of illnesses and diseases while teaching them to live healthier lives. They have become central Alabama’s healthcare leader.

Along with providing great healthcare, the Baptist Health Care Foundation is an essential part of Baptist Health’s work to provide better services and programs to the state. The Foundation holds fundraisers throughout the year to help provide scholarships, hospice care and other medical assistance. The organization as a whole supports philanthropic activities both internally and externally. Each year, Baptist Health hosts a number of events and supports local non-profits who are working alongside them in the community. In 2018, Baptist Health participated in approximately 120 individual sponsorships and donated nearly $330,000 to local organizations and non-profits in the community

Previous recipients of the MAX Community Achievement Award include the Montgomery Chamber Convention and Visitor Bureau, Montgomery Area Council on Aging, the Junior League of Montgomery, Central Alabama Sports Commission, EMERGE Montgomery, Montgomery Area Nontraditional Equestrians (MANE), the Joy to Life Foundation, Pastor Edward Nettles, Sr., the Montgomery Biscuits, Hyundai Motor Manufacturing of Alabama, the 754th Electronic Systems Group, the Joint Forces Headquarters Alabama National Guard, the Alabama Wildlife Federation, the Montgomery Campus of Troy University, Hope Inspired Ministries and Valiant Cross Academy.
