Apple Valley, MINN. – In keeping with the credit union tradition of service and giving back, United Educators Credit Union donated over 1,500 mittens, gloves, scarves, and hats to local schools. This was the first year that UECU partnered with 30 Papa John’s Pizza stores around the metro and 1,000 of the pieces came from those stores.

UECU, a member-owned financial cooperative serving the education community, partnered with members and Papa John’s Pizza (locally owned & operated) to collect donations during its Annual Mitten and Hat Drive. Special thank you to Matt Olson from the North Blaine Papa John’s Pizza store for bringing this partnership together.

The donations were given to the selected schools in December & January to distribute to those children in need. Benefiting schools include: • Bel Air Elementary, New Brighton • Bruce Vento Elementary, St. Paul • Cedar Park Elementary, Apple Valley • Compass Program of Anoka Hennepin • Crestview Elementary, Cottage Grove • Echo Park Elementary, Burnsville • Forest Hills Elementary, Eden Prairie • Greenleaf Elementary, Apple Valley • Hoover Elementary, Coon Rapids • Lucy Craft Laney School, Minneapolis • Meadow Lake Elementary, New Hope • Morris Bye Elementary, Coon Rapids • Newport Elementary, Newport • NW Passage School, Coon Rapids • Oak Ridge Elementary, Eagan • Pilot Knob STEM Magnet School, Eagan • Pinewood Elementary, Mounds View • Pullman Elementary, St. Paul Park • Richardson Elementary, North St. Paul • Sand Creek Elementary, Coon Rapids • School of Engineering & Arts (SEA), Golden Valley • Sonnesyn Elementary, New Hope • Sunnyside Elementary, New Brighton • Valentine Hills Elementary, Arden Hills
