(SAN ANTONIO, TX – January 18, 2019) –– The Security Service Charitable Foundation has presented Children’s Hunger Fund with a $6,000 donation.  Operating world-wide for nearly three decades, the Children’s Hunger Fund began serving South Texas ten years ago.  Each year, the organization provides more than 40 million meals to children and families by way of Food Paks distributed through local churches.

“Our Volunteer Corps has spent many evenings building the Food Paks for distribution to local children and families,” said Brandy Ralston-Lint, senior vice president of corporate communications for Security Service Federal Credit Union.  “So a donation such as this is personal because many of the volunteers recognize the impact this organization is making in our community.”

“We are blessed every day to be able to deliver hope to suffering children,” said Jesse Reyes, director of distribution and volunteers for Children’s Hunger Fund. “However, we are only able to accomplish this with the help of partners like the Security Service Charitable Foundation and their investment back into the community.”

The Security Service Charitable Foundation helps further Security Service Federal Credit Union’s corporate goal of community service by contributing to deserving organizations and causes in the credit union's market areas.

About Children’s Hunger Fund

Founded by Dave Phillips in 1991, Children’s Hunger Fund serves the needs of children through gospel-centered mercy ministry in 25 countries, including the U.S. Since 1991, 97% of all donations have directly supported programs that serve suffering children and families. The charity has distribution centers in San Antonio, Dallas, and at its headquarters in Los Angeles. At each center, bulk food is packed by volunteers into “Food Paks” (a 20-pound box of nutritious food). Food Paks are distributed to millions of children and families in need throughout the U.S. and worldwide through a unique process, utilizing a Mercy Network of pastors and local churches who deliver the Food Paks into the homes of families in each region that is served.
