SPIRE Credit Union President Recognized for Giving Back to Community

Falcon Heights, MN Dan Stoltz, President and CEO of SPIRE Credit Union, has been honored with the Northern Star Council’s 2018 Community Builder Award. This prestigious award is given to a person who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment to communities. Each year, Northern Star Council honors an individual or couple with the Community Builder Award. To be eligible, honoree(s) must have demonstrated outstanding commitment to making the community a better place.
Stoltz has spent his entire career building and strengthening communities through volunteering of his time, talents and treasures. The list of accolades Stoltz has received in his career is impressive. A few awards he’s won in the past few years include: 2015 Outstanding Professional of the Year by the Minnesota Credit Union Network, 2016 Spurgeon Leadership Award from The Boy Scouts of America for service as an exceptional role model for youth; 2017 Executive of the Year from DECA for leadership development in area high schools. Earlier this year, he was a 2018 Regional Finalist for the Ernst Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Most recently, Dan made the 2018 ranking of “The 500 Most Powerful Business Leaders in Minnesota.” Stoltz was featured in the Banking & Finance category and included individuals selected from an initial group of more than 7,000.
Stoltz’s personal philosophy is that “life is about giving, not getting,” and is evident in his leadership at SPIRE. He has also built SPIRE into a #1 rated performing credit union in Minnesota and 15th nationally (out of over 6,000).
One may also recognize Stoltz as King Boreas 79 of the 2015 St. Paul Winter Carnival. This yearlong commitment involved making over 400 public appearances with the Royal Family. Then he served as the 20162017 Minneapolis Aquatennial Commodore, which included over 300 appearances. Stoltz is the first person ever to serve as head of the Winter Carnival and Aquatennial in back-to-back years.

I am ever-grateful for being given the opportunity to serve my community.”
