Credit Union Donates $2,500 to Sponsor Salute to the Arts

Edwardsville, Illinois Scott Credit Union recently presented a check for $2,500 to a representative from Midwest Salute to the Arts to sponsor this years 25th anniversary event that will be held Aug. 23-25 in Fairview Heights.� The event will be held at Moody Park (Longacre Park) and is billed as one of the premier art festivals in the nation featuring artists from throughout the country. Scott Credit Union Community Relations Representative Jennifer Riebold presented the $2,500 check to event committee member Sharon Kassing. scott"This is another opportunity for us to support our community and the people who live here," Riebold said. "We feel that it is important that we do what we can to help with events here. We are very happy to be a sponsor of this premier event." The Midwest Salute to the Arts is a juried fine art festival featuring art from 11 different mediums. The event also features entertainment, an interactive art area for kids and a food court. Scott Credit Union has made giving back to its communities a major priority. The local credit union contributed about $275,000 and its employees volunteered over 2,300 hours to a variety of local civic efforts throughout the region in 2012.� "We realize that without our members and the communities in which we serve, we would not exist as a financial alternative," Riebold noted. "Supporting our communities is very important to us."� The credit union has increased its community involvement in the past few years while also increasing its efforts to educate consumers of the value of doing their financial business with a not-for-profit credit union. "We really want people in the area to know more about the value of doing business with a credit union," she added. "That is why we have really focused our time on educating area residents about Scott Credit Union. One of the big ways weve done that is through our community involvement."
