NAPERVILLE – January 2, 2019–DuPage Credit Union recently received the Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet’s 2018 Corporate Champion Award. This award is given annually to a business that demonstrates commitment to those in need through generosity and volunteerism to Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet.
DuPage Credit Union earned this award for their continued service to the charity’s DuPage County Back to School Fair through their We’ve Got Your Back Backpack Fundraiser. Since its foundation, five years ago, the Credit Union’s Backpack Fundraiser has raised over $62,000 and helped thousands of DuPage County students in need begin the school year with school supplies needed to succeed in the classroom. Credit Union Team Members also volunteered to organize and distribute the backpacks filled with supplies at the Fair.
“DuPage Credit Union’s We’ve Got Your Back backpack fundraiser has had a tremendous impact on Catholic Charities,” said Glenn Van Cura, Executive Director of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet. “The students who receive these backpacks and school supplies are given the gift of returning to school with the tools they need to learn and succeed. We are so grateful to DuPage Credit Union for their partnership and generosity.”
“We’re humbled to have earned this prestigious award,” said Amy Brandt, DuPage Credit Union Vice President of Business Solutions. “We value our partnership with Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet and look forward to helping even more students in 2019.”
