ORNL Federal CU Raises Over $95,000 for United Way

Oak Ridge, Tenn. – Each fall, ORNL Federal Credit Union (FCU) employees join together to raise funds for the United Way and the 2018 campaign exceeded expectations as employees lived the credit union motto ‘people helping people’. Together, ORNL FCU employees raised over $95,000 during the annual campaign; Over the last five years, ORNL FCU employees have raised over $500,000 for the United Way.
The campaign was led by internal advocates who brought inspiration and energy to the fundraising efforts. The advocates included Cora Blair, Nikki Noe, and Missy Strickland.
“Almost 60% of ORNL FCU employees participated in the 2018 internal giving campaign. Our credit union rallies together for this annual campaign because of the overall impact made to the communities in which our members and employees live, work, and play,” said Strickland.
According to Strickland, money raised for the United Way – including employee donations, ORNL FCU’s corporate donation, and internal fundraising activities – totaled $95,689.16.
“ORNL FCU employees are passionate about serving their communities,” said Strickland. “Our annual United Way fundraising campaign is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to helping our communities thrive.”
