TruStone Financial Donates $2,000 and Hundreds of Toys to Toys for Tots

PLYMOUTH, Minn. (December 21, 2018) - TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union, the TruStone Financial Foundation and TruStone Home Mortgage recently donated more than 400 toys and a check for $2,000 to Toys for Tots. Donations of new, unwrapped toys were gathered at the credit union’s branches and the corporate office in Plymouth, MN.
To deepen the drive’s impact, TruStone Financial and TruStone Home Mortgage employees were encouraged to donate toys or money to the organization through their December Casual for a Cause day, a program where employees have the opportunity to wear jeans in exchange for a donation to a designated charity. Monetary donations were matched by the TruStone Financial Foundation for a total of $2,000.
As a United States Marine Corps veteran and passionate community volunteer, TruStone Home Mortgage employee Justin Hebner helped coordinate the companies’ joint donation efforts. “The increase in the amount of toys donated from last year to this year was incredible, and I can only hope that the number goes up by that much more next year,” says Hebner. “I’d like to thank all of the members and employees who contributed to the campaign. This donation couldn’t have been achieved without their participation.”

Toys for Tots is a program begun by the U.S. Marine Corps and now run by the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. The purpose of Toys for Tots is to provide a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children during the holidays.
