North Star CCU Supports Angel Project and Provides Warm Clothes for 15 Local Children
December 20, 2018
North Dakota - Staff at North Star Community Credit Union’s Willow City branch wanted to show their support for the Willow City Angel Project this year. To raise money, the credit union hosted a Halloween Party for the community back in October, and over a lunch hour they served a free-will offering meal of chili, sandwiches and dessert bars. All of the food was donated by community members, and through this event and donations from community members and businesses, they raised $541.40.
The Willow City Angel Project is a project where the Willow City Office works with Rolette County Social Services to help provide coats and other items children need to stay warm in the winter. With the proceeds from the fundraiser, the credit union was able to purchase new coats, hats, mittens, scarfs, socks and other clothing items, and even some toys, for 15 children in Rolette County! “We are glad to do our part to support this project, and we hope with the continued support of our community we can help even more children next year,” said Shelly Vollmer, Branch Manager.
North Star Community Credit Union serves the North Dakota communities of Maddock, Bottineau, Butte, Cavalier, Grafton, Minot, Rugby, Velva, and Willow City. Chartered in 1940, the credit union currently has more than 20,000 members and over $300M in assets.
