From supporting fundraising initiatives to event sponsorships, a big part of our mission is to give back to the communities that have welcomed us.
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Alaska USA Federal Credit Union members contributed $71,400 to support community food banks during its annual Cash for Cans® food drive.
The credit union and the Alaska USA Foundation teamed up for the fundraiser, collecting cash donations at Alaska USA branches during the month of September. Donations will assist 21 food banks in Alaska, Maricopa County in Arizona, the High Desert region of California, and Washington State. Food banks received the following amounts in each state:
Alaska—$40,900
Arizona—$3,300
California—$9,400
Washington—$17,800
“Every year Alaska USA members step up in a big way to help those in need,” said Shannon Conley, Senior Vice President, Branch Administration. “Their generosity is going to help feed a lot of families and children who struggle with finding enough to eat every day.”
