PLYMOUTH, Minn. (November 29, 2018) - TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union donated a total of $9,000 to eight high schools as a sponsor of KARE 11’s Prep Sports Hot Highlights. Each week KARE 11 Sports Director Randy Shaver nominated three top football plays from area schools and KARE 11’s social media followers picked a favorite. The winner was announced every Friday and TruStone Financial donated $1,000 to each of the winning schools’ general athletic and activity funds.

“We are proud to support local athletes with this partnership,” says TruStone Financial’s Chief Business Officer Steve Steen. “On behalf of the credit union, I’d like congratulate all of this year’s Hot Highlights winners.”

To celebrate their Hot Highlights win, TruStone Financial presented a check to each week’s winning player(s) and team at their school and congratulated them on social media.

“High school football is more than a sport—it’s about community,” says Shaver. “We can’t do the Prep Sports Extra without great partners, and TruStone Financial has been instrumental in our success the past four years.”

This year’s winners include:

  • Buffalo High School
  • White Bear Lake High School
  • Chaska High School (Two Week Winner)
