Credit Union ONE Helps Provide 800 Students with Dictionaries

Ferndale, Michigan – Credit Union ONE once again sponsored and partnered with the Shorewood St. Clair Shores Kiwanis, to provide all eight hundred third grade students in St. Clair Shores with their own new dictionary. Over twelve schools public, private and charter, were included in the program that was completed in November. The dictionaries are full of learning material and include information on the United States Presidents, States of the United States, Sign Language, Braille, Maps and Multiplication Tables, among many other interesting learning opportuinities.
The books are delivered to each classroom by represenatives from the Kiwanis and Credit Union ONE. This is now over ten years that the Kiwanis have been involved with this program. “ The kids and teachers really appreciate this project, and I want to thank Credit Union ONE for being the sponsor of one of our favorite programs” said Dr. Carl Papa, President of the St. Clair Shores Kiwanis.
The presentations are scheduled in advance with each school and classroom.” The excitement of the children when they each get a book is really great” said John Kozich, Vice President of Community Relations. “ This is a good way for us to give back to the schools and the community”.
