CONCORD, Calif. – Nov. 15, 2018 – Pacific Service Credit Union (Pacific Service CU), a full-service financial institution serving several counties throughout California, contributed $14,000 to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society this year through an event sponsorship and volunteer fundraising for the non-profit’s Light the Night campaign.
The credit union coordinated a wide range of creative opportunities for employees to donate including $20 cards good for five days to wear jeans to work, $10 raffle tickets for a free day of paid time off, and tickets for a pizza day, nacho day, ice cream sundae day and “BBQ by the Boss” lunch.
Pacific Service CU employees also participated in the East Bay Light the Night Walk in Walnut Creek on October 13, 2018. At the walk, participants carried illuminated lanterns that vary in color to represent a supporter, those walking in memory of a loved one or a survivor.
This year’s East Bay campaign generated a total of $325,486 in funds for critical research to help stop blood cancer.
