NorthCountry Federal Credit Union presented a check for $20,000 to the American Cancer Society at the 2018 Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on Sunday, October 14 at Veterans Memorial Park in South Burlington, Vermont. This was the eighth consecutive year at this sponsorship level.

“We are proud to be associated with such an important event for Vermont and for anyone whose life has been touched by cancer– directly or indirectly,” says Bob Morgan, CEO. “Bringing together cancer survivors, volunteers, walkers, friends and families for this day makes an impact on our community by spreading awareness and ultimately raising funds to address this disease. NorthCountry is so pleased to financially support the walk as well as providing staff volunteers and walkers.”

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a 3 to 5 mile walk to raise awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer. The event raises money to fund innovative research, provide free information and support, and to help people reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early when it's most treatable.

NorthCountry Federal Credit Union is open to anyone who lives or works in northern Vermont, and is headquartered in South Burlington. It provides financial services designed to provide convenience and value, and commits 10% of its previous year’s net revenue to community giving. It was organized in 1950, and is the third largest credit union in Vermont.
