Numerica Team Building Gives Back - 86 Skateboards to Local Kids!
October 12, 2018
Spokane, Wash. –The entire Numerica Credit Union team gathered this past Monday at Gonzaga’s McCarthey Athletic Center for a Development Day that included giving back to our community’s youth by making skateboards on the spot with the kids overseeing their every move!
The day’s activities focused on empowering Numerica employees to enhance the lives of their members by creating a better experience that fosters well-being. Over 500 employees from Spokane, Wenatchee Valley, northern Idaho and the Tri-Cities participated.
Giving back to the community is vital to Numerica’s core purpose of enhancing lives, fulfilling dreams and building communities. So, in true Numerica form, the development exercise gave employees the privilege to work with 86 students from Spokane Public Schools’ Stevens Elementary, Whitman Elementary, and Sheridan Elementary. Teams of Numerica employees worked with their designated student to make custom skateboards that each student could then take home.
“When those kids walked out and heard that they were going to get a skateboard, I don’t know who was more excited – the kids or the adults,” said Kelli Hawkins, director of communications at Numerica. “It was so emotional meeting ‘our’ child, getting to know them, and then trying to make their skateboard perfect.”
Many employees commented on how meaningful the exercise was and how grateful they were to have that opportunity.
