CU Recovery joined a group from the Minnesota Credit Union Network on CU Forward day, Monday October 8th.  Both groups dedicated the day to community service by volunteering their time packing meals at the Second Harvest Heartland distribution center.  CU Recovery’s dedicated team contributes both time and financial support to the people and communities where they live and work.  Credit unions, as not-for-profit financial institutions, give back profits to their members and the communities that they serve.

Second Harvest Heartland is one of the nation’s largest, most efficient and most innovative food banks. Second Harvest Heartland helps relieve hunger not only by sourcing, warehousing and distributing food, but through data-driven thought leadership and community partnerships that help improve the region’s larger hunger relief system.  5.2 million meals were packed in 2017 serving over 500,00 people that year. Every day, they need more than 200 volunteers to help get food to people in need.

Wendy Elieff, Senior Vice President Sales and Service stated: “Our team looks for opportunities to be involved in charitable events throughout the year. CU Forward day is an excellent example of how we can partner with credit unions in Minnesota to make a difference to people who are in need."
