Maurie C. Byrne Chapter Donates $500 to Northlands Rescue Mission

Last week, the Maurie C Byrne Chapter in Grand Forks, ND donated $500.00 to the Northlands Rescue Mission. Northlands Rescue Mission is a place of rescue, relief and restoration for all who come, no matter their needs or challenges. For the homeless living on the streets, they are a hot meal, a warm bed and a second chance. For the mentally ill, they are a safe harbor that offers compassionate care. For an impoverished family in crisis, they are a source of help and hope. Through this donation, the chapter hopes to touch several of the programs that the mission has in place, including the Backpack Program. Locally, over 610 children each week receive a grocery bag filled with two breakfasts, two lunches, two snacks, and two beverages to help them through weekends, when they do not receive a meal at school.
