Resource One Employee Spends Vacation Helping Members
September 28, 2018
Dallas, TX; While an employee of Resource One CU was on vacation, a member had contacted him notifying that her father was looking to purchase a new vehicle, and had no clue where to start. This would be the first vehicle that he will be financing. The father had only purchased cash vehicles in the past because he wasn’t sure how to go about receiving a loan. The first thing the employee did was visit them to go over their budget and find a vehicle within their price range. The next step was visiting a branch a getting them pre-approved for the amount that fit within their budget. After a little bit of convincing, we were able to get them approved for the amount desired.
The next day they found a vehicle online at a near dealership, not knowing that going in it would be a battle. The employee decided to join them to make sure they were receiving a reasonable price for their vehicle.
The employee then met the members at the dealership to help them with the auto purchase. The employee quickly identified that the auto was 10k over the actual value. Alerting the members that they would be overpaying on the automobile the employee then assisted them with finding the same car elsewhere for the correct amount.
After receiving the order, the employee hurried over to the branch to finish the loan and get the paperwork as well as drafting in place to have the member take home the vehicle that same day. The employee stayed to help translate for the father and finish up the paperwork needed for the vehicle that was being traded in. After two days we were able to get the member in a good vehicle at a good price that met their standards.
