Basking Ridge, N.J. (September 21, 2018) – The Affinity Federal Credit Union Foundation announced today that it is continuing to deepen its growth and presence in Connecticut, through newfound partnerships with multiple grassroots charities designed to aid local communities. The organizations include:

  • New Reach, an organization which inspires independence for those affected by homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing and support using the most innovative and progressive methods. New Reach delivers a full spectrum of housing interventions to over 3,500 Connecticut residents each year, including over 2,000 children.

  • Central Connecticut Coast YMCA, with the mission to strengthen the foundations of communities and families through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility in 24 towns and cities in the Greater Bridgeport and New Haven areas.

  • Norwalk Grass Tennis Education (NGTE), who strives to change the lives of children from low income families through tennis, life skills, educational and leadership programs.

The Foundation made a $2,000 donation to New Reach in support of their emergency shelter as well as a $1,000 donation to the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA in support of their New Haven Youth Center Walk-In Program. Earlier this spring, the Foundation, awarded a $2,500 grant to NGTE, and throughout the summer worked with this organization to host personal finance seminars for high school students in NGTE’s junior coaches program.

“Affinity is delighted to contribute to these deeply inspirational Connecticut nonprofits, as we get to know our neighbors in the New Haven and Norwalk communities,” said Jacqui Kearns, Chief Brand Officer at Affinity. “These partnerships strengthen our commitment to improving the financial lives of our members and the communities we serve, truly making us a community connected.”
