Dakota Plains CU Organizes Little Miss & Little Mr. Ellendale Contest

Ellendale, ND - Dakota Plains Credit Union (DPCU) was pleased to organize the Little Miss and Mr. Ellendale Pageant for 2018. The event was held on Applefest weekend which was September 7th and 8th. On Friday night, the kids, ages 5 and 6, were invited to the Fireside Family Restaurant. They were able to color and decorate crowns to wear. They also decorated apples which were used as decoration on the float on Saturday. The children were treated to supper by Peggy Gilbert, owner of the Fireside Family Restaurant.

There were five judges that assisted Bridget Henning and Lori Wald of DPCU in deciding on the winners. The kids were judged on personality, kindness, and participation. With 21 children competing, it was a hard decision. The kids all had such a great time! On Saturday there was a parade and the kids were able to ride on the float that was decorated by Dakota Plains Credit Union.

After the parade was over everyone gathered around the stage to hear the winners. The 2018 Little Miss Ellendale is Peyton Rall, daughter of Brent and Angie Rall. The 2018 Little Mr. Ellendale is Khristian Kinkead, son of Ali and Lane Olson. “We had so much fun organizing this event and we can’t wait to do it again next year,” said a credit union spokesperson.
