North Star Community Credit Union in Maddock North Dakota has announced a generous donation of $5,079 to provide ten new iPads at Maddock Public Schools.

The iPads will be instrumental in a new curriculum being implemented at Maddock’s elementary school. The goal of this curriculum, titled “CAFÉ”, is to create a passion for reading in the students and teach strategies they can use no matter the material they are reading. To implement this program, which will be taught within the Daily 5 structure, the teachers were in need of iPads to monitor student progress and goals. The iPads are also used by the students to listen to reading, work on reading skills, and to complete word work and vocabulary building.

Shown in the photo, Bob Herrington CEO of North Star CCU, recently presented the check to Mrs. Sundby, Principal, Maddock Public School while some of the elementary school children looked on.
