Hamilton, MT - Last Wednesday was Miracle Jeans Day, and credit union staff across the U.S. wore denim to work to raise funds for their local CMNH hospitals. In Montana, Ravalli County FCU made it a mission to raise more awareness and funds than in the past. In 2014 (just four years ago), Ravalli was excited to collect $30 from employees willing to pay $5 to wear their jeans to work. This year, when credit union staff set out a goal of raising $200, they knew they'd need their community's help. Credit union employees pitched in, bringing homemade treats and goodies to hold an old-fashioned bake sale in the branch. Then they used email blasts and Facebook posts to invite members. “I wasn’t sure we were going to reach our goal, and then, just like that, our community stepped up and really made a difference. We doubled our goal and collected $400 to give to Shodair,” says Samantha Collins who spearheaded the MJD efforts. CEO Darci Parsons said they all were "beyond excited" with that final total. "I am very proud of my staff for their dedication to this event and our members for making it such a success." Big thanks go out to the Ravalli County FCU and the Hamilton community who clearly pulled together to make a #CUDifference.
