RAPID CITY, S.D. – Supporting underserved children and families in their community, Black Hills Federal Credit Union recently donated $10,000 to the Youth and Family Services Foundation to assist in the expansion of their East Adams Street facility in Rapid City.

A comprehensive social services agency, Youth and Family Services offers programs and resources for everything from early childhood development and nutrition to youth education and counseling. BHFCU’s financial support will aid in the construction of a new wing at the nonprofit’s current facility. The addition will provide much needed programming space and a new playground/outdoor learning area for clients.

“Youth and Family Services has played an important role in improving the lives of our youth and meeting the needs of the underserved in our community,” said Roger Heacock, President and CEO of Black Hills Federal Credit Union. “We are proud to support their ongoing commitment to health, wellness and youth education.”

Youth and Family Services hopes to complete construction on the new addition in the fall of 2019. Once opened, the organization will be able to provide programs and services to thousands of additional children and families in the community.

Established in Rapid City in 1941, Black Hills Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit, financial cooperative serving over 70,000 members. The community-chartered credit union has locations in Pierre, Rapid City, Custer, Eagle Butte, Hot Springs, Sioux Falls, Spearfish, Sturgis, and Wall, South Dakota.
