From supporting fundraising initiatives to event sponsorships, a big part of our mission is to give back to the communities that have welcomed us.
ANCHORAGE, AK – Alaska USA Foundation has donated $7,500 to community programs that support children and veterans in Alaska and California.
$5,000 was donated to the Great Alaska Council in support of Boy Scouts of America. The funds will provide Scouts without financial means and/or transportation, the opportunity to attend remote area scout day camps.
$2,500 was donated to the United States Veterans Support Group, Inc. to help provide shelter and food for veterans and their families, give assistance in filing claims, and finance transportation to VA Hospitals for disabled veterans.
“Alaska Boy Scouts have a long-standing tradition of giving back to the community, so it’s great to have an opportunity to help more kids get involved in the program, build character, and have some positive experiences,” said Dan McCue, Executive Director, Alaska USA Foundation. “Likewise, the United States Veterans Support Group provides important services to veterans in the High Desert community that are more than deserving of a helping hand, having sacrificed much in defense of this country.”
