Member One Federal Credit Union Donates School Supplies to Area Schools
Roanoke, VA – Member One FCU employees recently led a school supply drive called Pens, Paper, and Promise and delivered the materials to schools across the credit union’s footprint.
The critical supplies were delivered to schools in Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Lynchburg City, Campbell County, Franklin County, Montgomery County, and Pulaski County to help students prepare for the new school year.
“Member One has a culture of community service, and our employees are always eager to serve,” said Andrea Milliron, Vice President Market Relationship Manager at Member One. “The opportunity to help students prepare for school is especially important to the credit union, and we are blown away by the response each year from our employees.”
Purchasing school supplies for children often puts a strain on family budgets. This employee initiative helps students arrive at school prepared and confident.
“Roanoke City Public Schools greatly appreciates the ongoing support of Member One and its employees,” said Rita D. Bishop, Superintendent at Roanoke City Public Schools. “Our students deserve to have the tools they need to succeed and these school supplies will allow our students to start the school year on the right foot.”
