A Moving Donation from the SD Central Chapter

The South Dakota Central Chapter of Credit Unions recently gave a monetary donation to People’s Transit of Huron, SD. The funds were raised by members of the Central Chapter at monthly meetings/training sessions where they held 50/50 drawings.
People’s Transit is a 501(c)(3) private, non-profit public transit service located in Huron, also serving Beadle and Sanborn Counties. They provide transportation to get people to and from medical appointments, school, work, shopping, and/or recreation. They make several trips locally and out-of-town for medical appointments, with destinations such as: Sioux Falls, Mitchell, Aberdeen, Brookings, Watertown, DeSmet, Howard, and Wessington Springs. They also coordinate with Jefferson Lines to provide transportation across the country.

The Central Chapter is made up of seven credit unions: Dakotaland Federal Credit Union, M-O Federal Credit Union, Huron Area Education Federal Credit Union, HB Telco Federal Credit Union, Dakota Rail Line Federal Credit Union (all of Huron), and Oahe Federal Credit Union (of Pierre) along with the Pierre branch of Black Hills Federal Credit Union, which is an associate member.
