May 13, 2013
Portland, OR Advantis Credit Union is launching their third Annual GROW Fund to support Portland metro communities with funding for programs that assist the underprivileged, at-risk children, enhancement of community spaces, education, safety and the arts. GROW is a $50,000 fund to assist small to moderate-sized non-profits with funding for projects that promise long term benefits to the local community. Non-profits are encouraged to apply for a grant for amounts up to $10,000. Complete details and grant application are available at www.advantiscu.org. Applications will be accepted May 1 31.
Since 2011, Advantis GROW Fund has contributed $100,000 to eight organizations for projects that have helped victims of domestic violence, abused or neglected children, and hungry and homeless people and animals. A selection committee will identify projects with the most promise of long term benefits, and the public will be invited to vote to help determine which projects will be funded. Citizens are invited to visit the Advantis website (www.advantiscu.org) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/AdvantisCU) to vote on the finalists beginning June 10, 2013. The GROW grants will be announced late June. "The Advantis GROW Community Fund is one of the ways we can give back to the communities we serve," said Wendy Edwards, Advantis Vice President of Marketing & Human Resources. "Because we seek a public vote through social media and our website, we get direct feedback about the priorities of those who live and work in the communities we serve, and it helps us determine where funding can make the greatest impact.
