WICHITA, Kans. – Wichita Federal Credit Union (WFCU) has awarded 8 students with a total of $8,000 in scholarships.  Each recipient was awarded $1,000 to apply toward tuition costs for post-secondary education this fall semester.  WFCU began awarding scholarships in 2004 to encourage members of the credit union as they pursue their higher education.  Since that time, 119 students have been awarded a combined total of more than $95,000 in scholarships.  Candidates are members of the credit union and are selected by a committee based on grade point averages, extracurricular activities, community service, career goals and a written essay.

Alexandra Corns – University of Kansas - Clinical Lab. Science/Pre-Med

Anna Nicole C. Aniel – Wichita State University - Pre-Communication Sciences and Disorders

Haly Hendricks – Maranatha Baptist University – Physical Education and Health

Jenny Nguyen – University of Kansas – Pharmaceutical Sciences

Kaylee Gunzelman – Kansas State University – Physical Therapy

Megan Holder – University of Kansas – French and Spanish

Milana Joslin – Butler County Community College – Medical Lab. Sciences

Saige Baalman – Benedictine College – Mechanical Engineering
