Zeal Credit Union Holding School Backpack and Supply Drive

Livonia, MI (July 18, 2018) – To support Volunteers of America and Operation Backpack, Zeal Credit Union is now accepting donations of new backpacks and school supplies, as well as monetary donations, at each of the credit union’s 13 metro Detroit branch offices.

“This is our 10th year to collect school supplies to help at-risk and homeless children enjoy a great start to the school year,” said Tiffany Sweet, youth and community development coordinator for Zeal Credit Union. “Zeal employees also get involved by donating supplies and stuffing grade-specific backpacks.”

This year’s Backpack and School Supply Drive runs through Friday, August 3, 2018. Donations are then distributed by Operation Backpack to needy students throughout Michigan.

Sweet added, “Our goal is to donate 75 fully stuffed backpacks, and with everyone’s help, we hope to exceed that.”
