Helena Community CU CEO Greg Strizich and Helena Symphony Music Director Allan Scott hold up the ceremonial check representing the credit union's multi-year commitment.

Earlier this year, Helena Community CU became the principal sponsor of the Symphony Under the Stars, inking a multi-year, $157,000 commitment that will help sustain the Helena Symphony’s free, outdoor performance that they stage each summer on the lawn of Carroll College. This year is the Symphony’s fifteenth and on the evening of the July 21, thousands of people will gather to enjoy this year’s event … the theme is Star Wars and will feature the music of John Williams. And, speaking of Star Wars … In it’s new role as primary sponsor, the credit union teamed up with the Blackfoot River Brewery to create a local brew for the upcoming symphony. Aptly titled Galaxy Pale Ale (remember the Star Wars theme!), the beer “celebrates a shared vision of beer and community philanthropy between the Blackfoot, HCCU, and the Helena Symphony.” There’s an official launch party at the Blackfoot Brewery on Tuesday, July 17, and the first 100 Helena Community credit union members who buy a growler will receive a free, limited-edition HCCU Symphony Under the Stars growler.

What a great way to support the community and create a bit of a buzz around a wonderful event that is a highlight of the Helena summer.
