CUNA Conference Supports Local Children's Hospital
July 2, 2018
BOSTON (June 30, 2018) – Credit union leaders from across the country gathered in the John B. Hynes Veteran Memorial Convention Center in Boston for Credit Union National Association's (CUNA) America's Credit Union Conference (ACUC). The signature CUNA event has a longstanding history of fostering collaboration and generosity. To continue this tradition, attendees at the four-day conference received the opportunity to participate in the ACUC Giveback program to support Children's Miracle Network hospitals.
Participants in the giveback assembled “Sunshine Bags” filled with toys, snacks, and other goodies for patients at the Boston Children’s Hospital, a Children’s Miracle Network hospital.
“We’re proud to partner with the Children’s Miracle Network in Boston,” said Marlo Foltz, Vice President of Blended Learning, Products and Services at CUNA. “These kids are facing some pretty tough and scary challenges, so if we can help provide them with the much-needed smiles and encouragement to keep fighting, we are happy to play a part.”
On the Friday of ACUC, conference attendees assembled the "Sunshine Bags" at various stations available in the Exhibit Hall. Materials were provided to add a personal touch and help provide much needed smiles for families of Boston Children's Hospital.
“The donation we received from America’s credit unions will benefit our child life services, who support children’s experiences at the hospital. Some of these services that specialize in supporting children would not be possible without the philanthropy of our corporate partners,” said Sharon Yon-Johansson Manager of Children’s Miracle Network Programs for Boston Children’s Hospitals Trust.
