FORUM Credit Union Awards Grants to Educators and Students

FORUM Credit Union recently held its fourth annual Foundation Summer Reception at the FORUM Conference & Events Center in Fishers. The reception was held to honor the Foundation’s current and previous educator grant and collegiate scholarship recipients. This year, the Foundation awarded seventeen educators and seven high school seniors from central Indiana.
 
The following educators received grants for their classrooms:
   Chris Atkinson, Cherry Tree Elementary School; Andrew Brinkman, North Central High School; Matthew Goddard, Holy Angels Catholic School; Sarah Cannon, Eastridge Elementary School; Courtney Chamberlin, North Elementary School; Kristen Fern, IPS Super School #19; Miranda Fikes, Rosa Parks Kindergarten Academy; Kurt Freytag, Lawrence Central High School; Todd Hagemeier, Westfield Middle School; Greg McCord, HSE Junior High; Kevin Morse, Westfield High School; Amber Ploutz, V.O. Isom Elementary School; Jennifer Spoor, Reagan Elementary; Amanda Stinnett, Pleasant Crossing Elementary School; Leah Trigg, Avon High School; Dawn Walker-Seyerle, Arsenal Technical High School; Lane Waters, Park Tudor. 
 
The following students received $5,000 collegiate scholarships, renewable up to four years totaling $20,000:
   Taiye Black, Pike High School; Jack Camp, Avon High School; Darrin Gee, Bishop Chatard High School; Lauryn Groce, Center Grove High School; Sarah Howard, Hamilton Southeastern High School; Alexander Lukens, Lawrence Central High School; Alaina Nelson, Mt. Vernon High School.
 
The FORUM Credit Union Foundation also recognized 21 previous scholarship recipients at the Summer Reception, who will be renewing their scholarship funds for an additional year.
 
Applications for educator grants are now open for the 2018/2019 academic school year. Members and educators employed at partner schools can apply before September 1, 2018 and recipients will be announced by October 1, 2018. The applications for collegiate scholarships will be available on October 1, 2018 and recipients will be announced in the spring of 2019. Teachers and students can apply through a quick and easy application online.
