On May 30th several members of the NuMark Credit Union team and their families joined with the Joliet Junior Women’s Club to help pack sweet potatoes at the Northern Illinois Food Bank’s New South Suburban Center in Joliet. Together we packed 4,100 pounds of sweet potatoes which will provide 3,416 meals for our hungry neighbors.

“It was some tough work but well worth it knowing that people will be smiling when they see these sweet potatoes” says Jesus Reyes, Web & Graphics Coordinator.

“This was a lot of fun” says Kari Endres, VP of Marketing. “We are now all experts in selecting sweet potatoes. This is a great way for local groups to spend time with each other and give back to the community.”

NuMark Credit Union has been supporting Northern Illinois Food Bank for the last two years. To date through fundraising events and member and staff donations, we have donated $13,193 to Northern Illinois Food. We have also sponsored and volunteered at several mobile food truck events bringing much needed groceries to local areas in need.
