Fargo, ND – The Red River Chapter’s Young Professionals joined forces to lend a hand at the Emergency Food Pantry in Fargo on Tuesday, June 19th. Nine individuals from area credit unions helped sort items, stock shelves, and label meat. They also received a tour of the location and learned more about how the Emergency Food Pantry operates. They were pleased to discover that there are more than 150 volunteers that give their time to the organization. The pantry also employs three individuals and will be adding a part-time position. The Young Professionals group volunteered for about an hour, which equaled a full day’s work for one pantry employee. Along with volunteering their time, the group gathered donations ahead of time, and collected 251 pounds of food donations which they delivered to the pantry.
