It's summer vacation! And this week and last, Embark CU wrapped up two important financial education projects – one for youth and one for adults. First, the kids … A number of third grade classes signed up to participate in the credit union's Money on the Bookshelf Program. The students learned about money while reading 10 books and completing answer sheets. Not only does Embark provide the books, every student who finishes the program receives a cool certificate and a $25 deposit to a Explorers Club savings account at the credit union. The popularity of this program continues to expand. Now, on to the adults. This week marked the last meeting of the United Way's Financial Futures Book Club. Hosted at Embark's main branch, the book club was designed around the Momentum onUp book 8 Pillars to Financial Greatness. Participants met once a month for the past five months and worked together to build a foundation for their financial future.
