Marietta, Ga. (June 14, 2018) – On Tuesday, June 5, 2018, LGE Community Credit Union had the honor of awarding two local students with the Positive Athlete Georgia LGE Extra Credit Award at the 2017-2018 Award Ceremony at the College Football Hall of Fame.

The LGE Extra Credit Award is given to a student-athlete who goes above and beyond for their team, school and community to make the world a better place.

The recipient of the LGE Extra Credit Award for the Northwest Atlanta Region is Trevor Melehan of Woodstock High School Cross-Country. Melehan is an A-student and graduated with 15 Advanced Placement courses completed. While in high school, he was a member of BETA, NHS and SNHS, while regularly volunteering with children who have learning and physical disabilities through the SPLASH program. He recently worked with Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston for his senior project, inspired by a drive to give back to the hospital that cared for him when he was 3 years old. Melehan was also named the statewide Most Positive Athlete for boys’ cross-country.

The recipient of the LGE Extra Credit Award for the Cobb County Region is Payton Wade of Sprayberry High School softball. Wade lettered each year of high school in Varsity Softball, volunteered with Champions Fastpitch Academy, and will be attending the College of Charleston to play division one softball.
