Ferndale, Michigan – The Members of Credit Union ONE took advantage of a free Shred Day held at the Ferndale Branch on Saturday May 19th.  3 ½  tons of paper was collected as Members from around the Metro area participated at the  9am to 12 noon event. Also the Membership was very generous as over $210.00 in donations was collected for Beaumont Children’s in Royal Oak.

Credit Union ONE hosts free shred days in the spring and fall each year, which helps to encourage awareness about the importance of shredding confidential personal material. Credit Union ONE Members Keri Gaither and Kennedy Trombley dropped off material in the morning and had this to say, “ The Shred Day is a Great Service, and I appreciate Credit Union ONE doing this for their Members”.

“ It seems that some form of identity theft is in the news on a daily basis, which also helps to explain the increased turnouts at each of the events” said John Kozich, Vice President of Community Relations for Credit Union ONE said. “ Our Members appreciate this service and continue to come out and participate, and to donate to such a great cause. Thank You”.

Credit Union ONE, headquartered in Ferndale Michigan for more than seventy-five years, offers a wide array of financial services and access to over 30,000 ATMs nationwide, serving 130,000 members, with twenty offices in three major metropolitan areas, including Metro Detroit, Grand Rapids and Traverse City.
