HATTIESBURG, MS - Local organizations are continuing to gear up for some annual events to help fight cancer. In Hattiesburg Saturday night, the folks from
Central Sunbelt Federal Credit Union raised money for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life by hosting a Caribbean-themed event called, "Not Just Another Saturday Night" at Southern Oaks and Gardens.
It featured food, entertainment and a silent auction.� The fund raising goal was $10,000.� "This day and age, everyone knows someone who has someone in their family or someone that they know has been affected by cancer and so, we're really passionate about trying to raise funds and trying to combat it," said Nick Mathews, marketing specialist for Central Sunbelt Federal Credit Union.
