Lowell, MA, June 4, 2018 – Align Credit Union’s employees proudly supported Habitat for Humanity’s 11th Annual National Women Build Week on May 23rd. The weeklong event invites women to devote at least one day to help families and spotlight homeownership challenges faced by women. This year over 18,000 women participated in the event nationally. In Lowell, the Align volunteers worked side by side with both of the families who will receive the houses.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell is a non-profit working towards eliminating poverty housing and homelessness by building and rehabbing simple decent affordable homes with the help of the homeowner and volunteers. Qualified families need to apply and be committed to volunteering 450 hours of labor on their homes or other projects. Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell builds homes in Bedford, Billerica, Burlington, Carlisle, Chelmsford, Concord, Dracut, Dunstable, Lowell, Reading, Tewksbury, Tyngsboro, Wakefield, Westford and Wilmington.

“Everyone deserves a decent place to live and Align is one of those community partners that really believes this. For six years in a row, they’ve come out to build with us during Women Build and many other times during the year. They support us financially and physically and really are making a difference,” said Brenda Gould, Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell.

“Align is proud to be involved with such a great organization,” said Align President Ken Del Rossi. “When a family has a safe place to call home, their lives are changed forever and our communities become stronger. We love being part of that story.”
