hudson riverHudson River Community Credit Union of Corinth, NY collected approximately 30,000 pounds of unwanted electronics during its branch-wide 2nd Annual Community Electronics Recycling drive held on Saturday, April 20, 2013. Members and local residents dropped off their unusable or unwanted television sets, VCRs, air conditioners and stereos as well as vacuum cleaners, car batteries and more for free at each of the Credit Unions five local branches for recycling by HRCCUs electronics recycling partner, Scrapster of Watervliet. "We were extremely pleased with the turnout for our 2nd Annual Electronic Recycling event", said Ed Behan, AVP of Marketing and Communications for HRCCU. "We easily accepted more than twice the amount of material collected last fall and have already exceeded the amount of electronics collected for recycling from all of last year", Behan added. "As a Community Credit Union, we are here to provide support to our local communities", said HRCCU Chief Executive Officer Sue Commanda. "It is through popular events such as this Community Electronics Recycling Day that members and non-members alike benefit from having a Hudson River Community Credit Union branch in their area", Commanda added. HRCCU will be hosting another Electronics Recycling Drive at its branches again this fall. Watch hrccu.org for date and time. ###
