Jackson, MI – The 2018 Hot Air Jubilee will return to Ella Sharp Park July 20 – 22 with more than 25 balloonists from across the state of Michigan. Hot Air Jubilee spokesman Jeff Knapp, announced Wednesday that the Jubilee is partnering with American 1 Credit Union for the first time as the Presenting Sponsor. “American 1 is providing the stability of a three-year presenting sponsor agreement and we are excited to have them onboard. If you live near Jackson you likely know American 1 because of their generous support of family events for the community.” Knapp also announced that “Once again we are pleased that Ella Sharp Museum and Hammond Propane are both returning as Gold Sponsors, their contributions and dedication to the Jubilee are extremely important to the success of this event. Ella provides the perfect venue and Hammond generously donates the propane for our balloonists.”
“The Hot Air Jubilee is a wonderful fit for American 1 involvement,” stated Laura Pryor, VP of Marketing and Communications. Pryor continued, “Jackson is a beautiful community with incredible parks, and the Jubilee accentuates that beauty with all of the colors and excitement of the balloons. We’ve decided to integrate some of our corporate entertainment events into the weekend which will bring more people to the Jubilee, including some visitors from out of town.”
The Hot Air Jubilee features breathtaking balloons, and a full festival on the ground; including 32 crafters and 14 concessioners which open on Friday at 4:00 PM. For the first time on Friday evening there will be Helicopter rides available. Back by popular demand all weekend are Knockerball Kings which will include smaller balls for younger children. In addition to the park play areas, Kids Kingdom is a completely free game area for children to enjoy. The Classic Car Show also returns to the Jubilee on Saturday from 1:00 – 5:00 PM.
The main attraction, the Hot Air Balloons, will debut on Friday evening with a Pilot Parade onto the launch field. Balloons are scheduled to take flight Friday and Saturday night at 6:30 PM, and the mornings of Saturday and Sunday at 6:30 AM. A Pilot Meet and Greet takes place on Saturday from 3:30 – 4:30. Friday and Saturday evenings conclude with a stunning night glow on the launch field across from Ella Sharp Museum.
Ella Sharp museum will be open and free to the public all weekend. Families can enjoy laser shows in the planetarium, as well as live music and a cash bar on the patio Saturday Evening. The Jubilee will also include carnival rides.
The Hot Air Jubilee remains committed to remain a free event to the community. Parking is $5 per vehicle.
