Member One FCU Supports Local Bike Share Program
April 17, 2018
Roanoke, VA – Member One FCU recently partnered with RIDE Solutions, a local transportation agency, to expand its Roanoke bike share program. The Member One station is located at the corner of Jefferson Street SE and Riverside Circle in Roanoke.
In 2017, RIDE Solutions recruited Massachusetts-based startup Zagster to implement the bike share program. The Roanoke community has warmly embraced the program. Since the launch in June of 2017, nearly 2,000 Zagster members have taken over 5,000 trips.
“Member One is thrilled to be a part of the most recent expansion of this growing bike share program,” said Nick Hart, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Member One. “The program is an asset that helps to connect communities, improve the health of our citizens, and make Roanoke a more desirable location for tourists and residents alike!”
The partnership with RIDE Solutions and area businesses has helped keep the prices low. The bike rental costs three dollars an hour, with an option to buy a forty dollar annual membership that allows riders to take out a bike for up to an hour daily for no extra charge.
“With the help of Member One, RIDE Solutions has been able to extend this valuable community program and offer the bike share program to more people in the Roanoke area,” said Jeremy Holmes, Program Director with RIDE Solutions. “We are extremely grateful for the support, recognition, and partnership.”
